Background
Purpose
Biosimilar medicines are still in their infancy in Hong Kong. However, many developed countries have been establishing their own guidelines and educating their patients about the use of biopharmaceutical medicines. The purpose of this forum is to provide channels for academic exchange among scholars, policy decision makers, government officials, pharmaceutical industry partners, and patient groups.
The forum will provides a platform for discussions, exchange of information and lessons to learn from one another. With the aging population and heavy burden to the public healthcare system in Hong Kong, we need to have strategies to ensure our patients get to know about biosimilar medicines and their options available on medical treatment in a fair and transparent manner. ISPOR-HK and CUHK School of Pharmacy are dedicated to work with government, patients groups, and industry to improve the patient care and medication safety in Hong Kong.
